Loving this new series about as much as I'm loving the the new Astonishing X-Men. I'm all giggles over the good titles out right now that have great art to match.

Wed, February 9, 2005 - 6:26 AMI've been too lazy to write up something appropriate about the new Legion, but, yeah-- I'm loving it to pieces.The whole "Rebels Without Causes" gimmick was irritating me when they started rolling out the new series, but as soon as I read the first issue I loved where they went with evefrything. ANd the art and the costumes are pretty!
I'm also happy about the playful look at various members and their powers: Colossal Boy grumbling about his name because he really just shrinks down from his normal size, Dream Girl not being sure if things have really happened yet or not, Chameleon Boy's lack of gender, etc. I can't wait to see how else they flesh out other people. -

I do like the art, and I might (eventually) like the storyline, but these characters are dead to me. I really don't want to read this so soon after the great characters from Legion Lost. Granted, those last few Legion stories in the last run were pretty L A M E.
Maybe I'll pick up the trade. -

I've always had a soft spot for the idea and the core characters, but all the reboots over the years have kept me confused and turned me off from ever startuing to read it regularly. Every time I would drfit back to the title, it was completely different premise than the last time I read it. Now that I've caught one from the beginning, I'm happy that I like the results. -

Sat, February 12, 2005 - 5:54 PMI think I stopped reading when Amethest, Princess of GemWorld appeared. I hope whoever approved that story arc is serving fries right now. Actually, I got completely lost in one of the reboots that had the Legion on some post-apocolyptic Earth, scattered and part of some rebellion. I've never dropped a series so fast. Thank God I still had all the older issues around the time of Crisis on Infinite Earths when Brainy thought Sensor Girl was Supergirl reincarnated. THOSE were the best times of the Legion.
That being said, there isn't anything about the new series I've been concerned about. I'm giving myself a few more issues to try to get a hold of the main characters but I'm liking the direction.

Thu, February 10, 2005 - 2:45 PMI'm glad to see Colossal Boy back, but I miss Gym Allon, son of the former President and husband to the Durlan Yera. That's the real Legion as far as this fan is concerned.
Everything since is just imitation.
